Some of my favorite works
1.) Mais oui tu es belle
This is one of my piece that was participated in a locals exhibition, specifically Glow Up Women
Exhibition that was held in South Kalimantan. I’m using my original character, Vega Brescha as my muse in this piece of work.“Mais oui tu es belle” is a french phrase that simply means “you look just fine”. I wanted to share our experience as a woman who lived every day under what-so-we-called beauty standards. We all know that a lot of us lost a lot including ourselves just to fulfill that standards so I wanted to remind those who have seen this work that you don’t need to fulfill anything,
because you look just fine!
2.) ! insecure
Another work that participated on the same local exhibition included Vega as my muse. In programming language (!) actually means “not”, so the title actually means confidence.Sometimes I find it rather odd when some people actually consider being confident is a wrong
thing to do. They said that you can only be considered pretty when someone told you so, not
you tell yourself. But truthfully, I don’t think so.Why should we be looking for something that’s within ourselves in someone else’s validations? It’s our value, not theirs, and I’ve noticed that those who grow with this kind of mindset actually just projecting their own insecurities toward us.So by enhancing your mindset to a more healthier and positive way, especially towards yourself, you’ll be projecting more positive energy and comments toward you and those who are around you.
3.) The End of 2022!
This is actually my last artwork in 2022. I wanted to share my experience of living that I’ve finally gotten healthier. Growing up I have a lot of struggles, and that cost a lot of my mental health.I was diagnosed with depression, social anxiety, and PTSD 4 years ago. Not a good start to a story
huh? But, last year in August, I officially did not need to take any medications. My parents also finally support me as an artist, which actually means the world to me. Then finally, I have those who will always support me and my journey, I’m very very grateful for that! So, I poured all of my thoughts and emotions into this last art of 2022!Cheers to everything we did to get better in our lives. Here is the exhibit of Ree's journey, the work of art I have been crafting through ups and downs.
